Festival: Freising gets its Uferlos back
Freising is set to host the Uferlos Festival from May 8 to May 17, 2026, featuring around 100 artists, although organizers are still seeking additional funding to close a significant budget gap for the free event.
The Uferlos Festival is returning to Freising in 2026, with the event scheduled to run from May 8 to May 17. Organizers revealed that while much of the programming is already in place, final negotiations are underway for key headliners. Attendees can expect a broad lineup of approximately 100 artists to perform at the event across six stages, enhancing the festival's offerings with a new stage titled 'Refuge', which aims to support subcultures.
Despite the extensive lineup, the festival is currently facing a substantial funding shortfall. The organizers are actively seeking donations and sponsorships to ensure that the event can proceed without any cuts to its scope. As it stands, the Uferlos Festival will maintain its tradition of being a free event for attendees, making it accessible to all members of the community.
Additionally, a unique aspect of the festival will once again be its 'Market of Opportunities', which will feature around 70 stalls showcasing various offerings. This market provides a platform for local artisans and vendors to connect with festival-goers, contributing to the cultural richness of the event. The return of the Uferlos Festival has created excitement within Freising, promising a vibrant gathering that celebrates creativity and inclusivity in the arts.
