Hubert Mayer, a local historian from Türkenfeld, has undertaken the task of documenting around a hundred Marian churches and chapels in Bavaria, capturing photographs of the diverse Marian figures adorned with various attributes. His project not only aims to preserve the visual heritage of these sacred places but also to provide insight into their creation and the ongoing relevance of Marian devotion in contemporary society. Through this initiative, Mayer contributes to a deeper understanding of the cultural landscape of Bavaria and the enduring influence of Marian worship in the lives of its people.
