Israel's attacks on Iran will continue for 3 weeks; death toll in Lebanon reaches 850
Israel plans to continue its military operations against Iran for at least three more weeks, with significant targets in the country, while the death toll in Lebanon has risen to 850.
On October 15, Israeli military spokesman Jonathan Defrin stated in an interview with CNN that military operations against Iran would be sustained for at least three more weeks. Defrin emphasized that the operations aim to significantly weaken the Iranian regime rather than strictly adhere to a predetermined timeline. He also mentioned that there are thousands of additional targets planned with the assistance of the United States over the next month and a half.
The Israeli military reported attacking more than 200 targets across central and western Iran, including facilities housing ballistic missiles and defense systems. This escalation comes amid heightened tensions in the region, where Iranian-backed groups such as Hezbollah are also involved in hostilities, exacerbating the humanitarian situation.
In Lebanon, the situation is dire, with the reported death toll reaching 850, including over 100 children. The ongoing conflict and military operations are straining the already fragile infrastructure and humanitarian conditions in the region, drawing international concerns regarding the humanitarian impact and the need for a de-escalation of violence.
