Nursery worker Nathan Bennett jailed after horror catalogue of child sex offences

Nathan Bennett, a nursery worker in Bristol, has been sentenced to 24 years in prison for multiple sexual offences against young children.

Nathan Bennett, a 30-year-old nursery worker from Corston, has been convicted and sentenced after committing a series of heinous sexual offences against toddlers at the Partou King Street nursery in Bristol. Convicted of eight serious charges, including rape and sexual assault, Bennett victimized five boys aged between two and three, with the crimes occurring in February of the previous year. In addition, he admitted to 13 other charges concerning four of the victims, highlighting the extensive nature of his criminal behavior.

During the sentencing at Bristol Crown Court, prosecutors revealed that the offences were not only horrifying but also indicated prior planning, which unnerved the court. The judge, William Hart, described Bennett as an "incorrigible and dangerous paedophile," emphasizing the need for a long sentence to protect society. As part of his sentence, Bennett will serve 24 years in prison, followed by an extended six-year license period, underlining the gravity of his actions and the impact on the victims and their families.

This case has drawn significant attention in the UK, not only for the nature of the crimes but also for the vulnerability of the victims, who were in the care of a trusted nursery employee. The verdict serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of safeguarding measures in educational environments and the ongoing need for vigilance in protecting children from abuse.
