The Master Inquiry will be extended as it is still in the 'initial phase'
The minister leading the investigation into Bank Master's frauds has decided to extend the inquiry for at least 60 days due to its initial status and the volume of evidence yet to be examined.
Minister André Mendonça, who currently oversees the inquiry into alleged frauds at Bank Master by Daniel Vorcaro, has announced a 60-day extension of the investigation. The initial deadline set by former rapporteur Dias Toffoli was approaching, but Mendonça believes that the inquiry remains in its early stages, necessitating further time to conduct a comprehensive examination of the evidence gathered.
The extension is supported by findings from the Federal Police, which indicated that a significant amount of material, including numerous mobile phones seized in the investigation, have not yet been fully analyzed. As a result, the police anticipate requesting new investigative measures. This situation reflects the complexity of the case and the extensive amount of data that investigators need to sift through to uncover potential criminal activities committed by Vorcaro and others involved.
Mendonça's leadership marks a shift in the management of the inquiry, as he actively collaborates with federal agencies to ensure that the potential irregularities are thoroughly investigated. The decision to extend the inquiry signals a commitment to due diligence amid concerns over the integrity of the financial system and the accountability of those implicated in the alleged frauds at Bank Master.
