The Head of the Interior Company for the Presidential Residence Says, 'A Presidential Office Official Instructed Me to Make False Claims' during the Audit
The head of the interior company involved in the renovation of the presidential residence testified in court that he was coerced into providing false information during an audit related to the relocation of the residence by an official from the Presidential Office.
During a court session, the head of the interior company, Kim Tae-young of 21Gram, testified that he was pressured by a former official from the Presidential Office to provide false statements during an audit regarding allegations surrounding the relocation of South Korea's presidential residence. This trial involves former Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, Kim O-jin, alongside the former official, who are accused of collaborating with 21Gram, a company without a comprehensive construction license, to illegitimately secure contracts for the renovation work. The allegations suggest that the contract was favorably awarded due to the company's ties with Kim Geon-hee, the spouse of the former president.
