Warning to Consumers about Dangerous Food Supplement: Urges to Check and Not to Use This Product
A dangerous food supplement has been identified and consumers are warned not to use it, with reports of illnesses associated with the product.
Lithuanian authorities have issued a warning to consumers regarding a hazardous food supplement that may have reached the local market. According to the State Food and Veterinary Service (VMVT), although the supplement is not sold in physical stores in Lithuania, consumers might have purchased it through international online platforms such as TikTok Shop, Amazon, Shein, eBay, and directly from the manufacturer's website. The product, produced by Ambrosia Brands LLC, has been voluntarily recalled due to health concerns linked with its consumption, with specific batches expiring between March and November 2027 being affected.
The manufacturer has taken steps to inform customers directly about the recall, utilizing email notifications and alerts through various online platforms where the product was sold. Reportedly, there are currently seven documented cases of illness due to this supplement in the United States, with three individuals requiring hospitalization. This rise in health issues has prompted stronger caution among consumers about dietary supplements purchased from unreliable sources, particularly those obtained online without thorough verification of their safety.
In light of the potential health risks, authorities strongly recommend that consumers check any supplements they may have purchased and refrain from using the affected product. This incident underscores the need for increased vigilance regarding food safety standards and the importance of sourcing products through reputable providers to prevent adverse health effects associated with dangerous supplements.
