An update allows traveling in North Estonia by train, bus, and tram with one ticket

Starting Monday, North Estonia introduces a unified travel ticket for trains, county buses, and trams in Tallinn and Harjumaa, enabling unlimited travel within selected zones.

On Monday, a new travel system is being implemented in North Estonia, allowing passengers to use a single period ticket for various modes of public transport including trains, county buses, and trams across Tallinn and Harjumaa. This unified ticket system aims to simplify the process of traveling within the region by eliminating the need for multiple tickets for different transport types. The validity of the ticket can range from one to thirty days, providing users with more flexibility compared to the previous system that only offered a 30-day option.

The newly introduced public transport ticket will be valid for usage in Tallinn's public transportation system and on designated bus services throughout Harjumaa, LÀÀnemaa, Raplamaa, and LÀÀne-Virumaa, as well as on Elron trains within zones one to five, excluding express trains. This means that commuters and travelers can now purchase tickets tailored to their specific travel needs, without being limited to starting their journey from the first zone in Tallinn, fostering greater accessibility across the network.

Additionally, the pricing structure for this period ticket ranges from 28 to 90 euros depending on the chosen zones, marking a change in the fare system since the previous 30-day ticket cost between 46 euros and higher. This initiative is expected to enhance public transport usage in the region, promote interconnectivity between transportation modes, and ultimately contribute to a more user-friendly public transport experience in North Estonia.
