Specifically, distressed by the increasing number of monkeys that regularly invade their fields, farmers began dressing in bear costumes to frighten the monkeys away. According to farmer Dharmveer from Firozpur village, the population of monkeys in the area is substantial, with reports indicating over a hundred monkeys that particularly damage potato and strawberry crops. By impersonating bears, these farmers have found that the monkeys are scared off, allowing them to preserve their harvests.

The local farming community is facing an ongoing challenge with monkeys causing significant damage to their agriculture. Kumar emphasized that without addressing the root causes of monkey behavior and habitat management, the issue is likely to persist.
