Shein and Soomets had plenty of minutes, but started the season with a loss

Rocco Robert Shein and Markus Soomets began the Norwegian top league season with losses for their respective teams.

The Norwegian top league kicked off under challenging circumstances for Estonian footballers Rocco Robert Shein and Markus Soomets, who both faced defeats in their opening matches. Shein's team, Fredrikstad, which finished eighth among sixteen teams last season, traveled to TromsΓΈ, a team that secured a bronze medal last year. Fredrikstad suffered a heavy loss, ending with a 0-4 scoreline, although Shein performed notably, playing for 79 minutes in the match.

On the other hand, Soomets and his team Start, who were newly promoted after finishing second in the lower division, also faced a rough start. Their first match ended in a 0-2 defeat against Oslo KFUM, who finished twelfth last season. Soomets came off the bench towards the end of the first half after a teammate was substituted due to injury, but was unable to turn the tide for his team.

Looking ahead, Fredrikstad will play against KFUM in two upcoming matches, one in the cup and another in the league, while Start hosts Aalesund in their next fixture, as both teams aim to recover from their rocky starts to the season and improve their standings in the league.
