Zelensky: Ukraine has prevented a large-scale Russian attack
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine has thwarted a planned large-scale Russian attack that was intended to commence this spring.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated in an interview with CNN that Ukraine's Armed Forces successfully prevented a significant Russian military offensive that Russia had been preparing to initiate this spring. Zelensky emphasized that Russia had aimed to implement an extensive attack operation at the end of the previous year, which was to be executed this spring. In response to this threat, Ukraine launched counteroffensives to protect its sovereignty against an expected major Russian assault.
A crucial factor in Ukraine's defensive achievements has been its advancing drone technology, which has played a significant role in diminishing Russian military capabilities. Zelensky noted that Russia is currently facing alarming troop losses of about 30,000 to 35,000 soldiers each month due to Ukrainian drone operations. This statistic highlights the effective use of drones in modern warfare and underscores the importance of technological supremacy in maintaining an advantage in conflict scenarios.
Additionally, Zelensky criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin, claiming that he has never genuinely sought to end the war against Ukraine. He argued that Putin's apparent willingness to engage in peace talks was merely a façade, motivated by fear of U.S. President Donald Trump's pressure and the United States as a whole. Zelensky urged for increased pressure on Putin from the U.S., asserting that without it, diplomatic negotiations would not be pursued earnestly by the Russian side, portraying the ongoing conflict's complexity and the challenges faced in achieving peace.
