Young man imprisoned for promoting drug sales with a tattoo on his forehead
A YouTuber has been arrested for tattooing a Telegram account linked to drug sales on his forehead and promoting it for payment.
A 29-year-old YouTuber has been apprehended for tattooing the phrase ‘Drug Kingpin Contact on Telegram’ on his forehead to promote a telegram account used for drug sales. The Seoul Southern District Court issued an arrest warrant on October 13, following allegations of violating drug management laws. The individual, identified as Kim, reportedly tattooed the promotional phrase along with account details, receiving financial compensation in return for his actions.
Kim is known for previously promoting illegal content, including pornography and gambling sites, and soliciting funds on his YouTube channel. His forehead tattoo explicitly displayed a Telegram handle associated with drug sales, suggesting that he received commission from the account owner for marketing their services. In a recent YouTube appearance, Kim revealed that he was paid 5 million KRW for the tattoo, downplaying the legal consequences by stating that it could result in just a fine due to the nature of his promotion.
The investigation began when a tip was received in January 2023 from the public regarding the promotion of drug-related content through facial tattoos. Further, Kim has reportedly expanded his tattoos to include promotions for other Telegram channels related to online gaming. On the day prior to his arrest warrant hearing, he conducted a live broadcast in front of the Seoul Southern District Court, indicating that he was prepared to accept his punishment and promised to provide full disclosure about his situation while asking for public support.
