The Milan-Cortina Paralympics concluded on the 15th of March (Japanese time), with a grand closing ceremony held at the Cortina Curling Olympic Arena in Italy. The 14th Winter Paralympic Games, which commenced on the 6th of March, saw a record 611 athletes from 55 countries and regions competing across six sports and 79 events, demonstrating remarkable participation, especially among female athletes, 160 of whom competed, surpassing the previous record of 136 in Beijing 2022. Notable inclusions this year were athletes from countries like El Salvador, Haiti, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Portugal, who participated for the first time in a Winter Games, while Brazil won its first medal in the Winter Paralympics, securing a silver.
