Police seize at least 50 boxes of slimming pens in a house in West Zone of SP
Police seized over 50 boxes of slimming pens from a house in São Paulo after stopping two suspects on a motorcycle.
On Sunday afternoon, the Military Police of São Paulo conducted a routine patrol that led to the seizure of at least 50 boxes of slimming pens found in a residence located in Jardim Boa Vista, West Zone of the capital. The police officers first stopped two men who were riding a motorcycle, but found no illegal items in their possession. However, upon questioning, the suspects revealed that they had recently delivered medications and provided the address where the products were stored.
Upon arriving at the specified residence, police discovered the front door slightly ajar, leading them to enter and search the premises. Inside, they found a significant number of boxes containing slimming medications which were subsequently confiscated. The operation indicates heightened police efforts towards addressing illegal drug distribution within residential areas, particularly those medications that might pose health risks to consumers.
The case has since been registered as possession of illegal goods at the local police station, 89th DP (Jardim Taboão), and further forensic examinations are expected to clarify the full extent of the operation and the origins of the seized products. The incident underscores ongoing concerns regarding the illegal trade and distribution of unregulated slimming aids in Brazil, reflecting broader issues of public health and safety.
