Ecuador's national soccer team has unveiled a new anthem called 'Somos guerreros Ecuador', composed by Enrique Ordeñana Vintimilla, who now resides in Spain, and performed by Luis Ernesto Pazmiño. The song aims to rally support for the team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup by encapsulating the spirit and determination shown by the players during the 2022 World Cup held in Qatar.

The idea for the anthem emerged from Ordeñana's observations during Ecuador's matches in 2022, where he noted a significant change in the team's attitude and confidence. Inspired by the players' dedication to winning, Ordeñana decided to create a song that would not only uplift the team's morale but also resonate with fans across the country. This reflects a desire to forge a deeper connection between the players and their supporters.

To bring this vision to life, Ordeñana collaborated with José Andrés Maya, a musician from Guayaquil, who took charge of producing and arranging the music.
