A tragic car accident on the SP-079 highway near Votorantim resulted in the death of one individual and injuries to four others. The incident occurred late Saturday night when one vehicle attempted a turn into a neighborhood and was struck by another car traveling in the opposite direction, which was unable to brake or swerve in time to avoid the collision. The crash happened at kilometer 100 of the Tenente Celestino Américo highway.

According to the São Paulo Transport Agency (Artesp), the vehicle making the turn was hit on the side, impacting two of its occupants, while the other car had three individuals inside.
