Study: Female Founders Receive Significantly Less Venture Capital
A recent study reveals that female-founded start-ups in Germany continue to receive substantially less venture capital compared to those founded by men or mixed teams.
A recent study conducted by EY indicates that female founders of start-ups in Germany receive significantly less venture capital than their male counterparts or those from mixed-gender teams. Despite a noticeable upswing in start-up financing in 2025, female entrepreneurs are increasingly left without sufficient funding. The report highlights that start-ups with all-male founding teams attracted an overwhelming 94% of total investments, while teams composed solely of women received a mere 1%. In total, almost 7.4 billion euros were allocated to male founding teams, representing a 20% increase from the previous year, whereas female-founded start-ups garnered only 53 million euros.
