Suspect of shooting at car arrested for illegal possession of firearm in the interior of SP
A man suspected of shooting at a car in São Carlos, SP, has been arrested for illegal possession of a firearm, although no one was injured.
A suspect was arrested early Sunday morning in São Carlos, São Paulo, after allegedly shooting at a car. No injuries were reported in the incident, which occurred in the Residential Samambaia neighborhood. The police were notified after receiving reports of gunfire on Nicolo Fiorentino Street, prompting a response from the military police.
Upon arrival, the police found a witness who claimed he was inside the vehicle when the suspect came out of a nearby house, brandishing a weapon, and fired shots that damaged the car's bumper and rear window. Following up on the incident, police located the suspect's residence where they found a .22 caliber revolver and seven rounds of ammunition hidden at the location. The suspect denied firing the weapon but was nonetheless taken into custody for the illegal possession of the firearm.
This incident adds to a growing concern over gun violence in residential areas in Brazil, especially as the police continue to combat illegal possession of firearms. With the case being under investigation, authorities will look into any further implications surrounding the suspect's actions and examine the broader context of firearm-related incidents in the region. The local community remains on alert as such events often raise fears about public safety and crime in their neighborhoods.
