Young man dies after choking on rasgulla during wedding ceremony

A tragic incident during a wedding in Jamshedpur results in the death of a 41-year-old man who choked on a dessert.

A tragic incident unfolded during a wedding ceremony in the village of Maliyantha in the Belajudi Panchayat of Jamshedpur late Friday night. Lalit Singh, a 41-year-old man, attended the wedding feast and started eating rasgulla, a popular Indian sweet. Unfortunately, the sweet got lodged in his throat, leading to severe breathing difficulties and ultimately, his death. This moment of celebration quickly turned into mourning as the news spread throughout the village, causing widespread sorrow among residents. Immediately after the choking incident, guests at the wedding made desperate attempts to dislodge the rasgulla to help Singh breathe, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Recognizing the severity of the situation, family members and villagers rushed him to MGM Hospital shortly thereafter. Medical staff conducted examinations but, regrettably, pronounced him dead upon arrival. Doctors stated that food lodged in the throat blocked the airway, cutting off oxygen supply to his body. The aftermath of this unfortunate event left the wedding festivities in ruins, with the family bereaved and the village united in grief. Following a postmortem examination on Saturday, Singh's body was returned to his family, underscoring the tragic turn of events where joy turned to sorrow in an instant during a celebration meant to unite families in happiness.
