Estonian Nordic combined athlete Kristjan Ilves finished the season in 11th place at the World Cup final event in Oslo.
Kristjan Ilves, an Estonian athlete, wrapped up his season with an 11th place finish at the final World Cup event in Oslo. Competing in the Nordic combined event, Ilves started from the 13th position in the ski jump and was part of a tight group battling for eighth place during the cross-country segment, but ultimately fell behind in the final laps. He finished with a time that placed him a minute and 40.6 seconds behind the winner. The winner of the event was Austrian athlete Johannes Lamparter, who had already secured the overall World Cup victory prior to this final race. Lamparter established a significant lead during the jumping segment and maintained control throughout the 10 km cross-country race, finishing with a remarkable time of 22:47.3. Norwegian Jens Luraas Oftebro finished in second place, crossing the line 31.9 seconds behind Lamparter, while his brother, Einar Luraas Oftebro, claimed third, showing a strong performance to finish without letting Finnish competitor Ilkka Herola challenge him for the spot. The final World Cup event saw several competitors, including Otto Niittykoski from Finland and Espen Andersen from Norway, round out the top eight.
