Helena and hundreds of others got stranded on Viking Glory – Now Viking Line speaks
Passengers on the Viking Glory cruise experienced an unexpected overnight stay due to technical issues with a sister ship, Viking Grace, but the situation was managed calmly by the crew and company.
A large number of passengers on the Viking Glory cruise found themselves stranded for an overnight stay after the Viking Grace, which was supposed to transport them back to Turku, broke down near Stockholm. The situation arose during a 23-hour cruise that had started from Finland, and normally, passengers would have returned by the evening. A spokesperson for Viking Line, Christa Grönlund, reported that the atmosphere aboard was calm, with passengers understanding the circumstances despite the inconvenience caused by the extended delay.
Viking Line has acknowledged the frustration caused by the prolonged journey and expressed their regrets for the inconveniences faced by their guests. Grönlund also mentioned that they are aware of the additional costs this situation may incur for travelers and are working promptly to address compensation claims. With around 700 passengers aboard from Finland and others from Sweden, the company remains committed to ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of their customers even in unforeseen circumstances.
This incident highlights the challenges faced by cruise operators when technical issues arise and the importance of effective communication with passengers during such events. Viking Line's proactive approach in addressing compensations reflects their dedication to customer service in the hospitality sector, particularly in travel and cruise experiences.
