Takamoto Katsuta won his first career World Rally Championship event in Kenya, elevating him to third place in the standings.

In the third round of the World Rally Championship season held in Kenya, Takamoto Katsuta achieved his first-ever victory in the series, driving for Toyota. This victory brought him 25 points, propelling him to third place overall, just 11 points behind the leader Elfyn Evans. Reigning champion Sebastien Ogier fell to sixth in the standings following the event.

The points distribution for this season remains the same as last year, with the winner receiving 25 points and subsequent placements earning points as follows: 17, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, and 1. Additionally, there is a separate point allocation on Sunday, where the top five drivers earn 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 points respectively. The same points distribution applies for the rally's final stage, known as the point test.

The overall standings post-Kenya rally see Katsuta at third with 25 points from this event, while other competitors such as Adrien Fourmaux and Sami Pajari also scored valuable points, with Robert Virves finishing in ninth place with 10 points. This competitive event highlights the shifting dynamics in the championship as drivers vie for top positions throughout the season.
