Cvrtila: Iran will not attack Ukraine, missiles are kept for American targets
Geostrategist Vlatko Cvrtila analyzed the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, stating that Iran is focusing its retaliatory actions on American targets rather than Ukraine.
Vlatko Cvrtila, a geostrategy expert from Vern University, provided insights into the dynamics of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East during a commentary for HRT. He pointed out that Iran is responding to attacks by launching strikes on American military and oil infrastructure, thereby demonstrating that the United States cannot successfully protect its allies. Cvrtila emphasized that strategic locations, such as the island of Hormuz, are becoming focal points for the conflict, and the situation is likely to escalate further.
He elaborated on the nature of the current military engagements, indicating that both the U.S. and Israel have targeted Iran, to which Tehran has retaliated—not only against U.S. assets in Arab states and Israel—but also against oil facilities. This retaliation is a clear message to Arab countries that their security is not guaranteed by the U.S. Cvrtila warns that the continued pace of attacks might see the conflict prolong, with several significant locations like the island of Hormuz now being potential triggers for further escalation.
Additionally, Cvrtila made references to ongoing discussions between Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Ukrainian President Zelensky regarding anti-drone systems, highlighting the interconnected nature of global conflicts. He also noted that U.S. naval forces currently face challenges in securing the Strait of Hormuz, underscoring the complexities of military strategy in the region and the implications for global stability, as the Middle East continues to navigate through this ongoing turmoil.
