Mitsotakis' message regarding the war and the wish - What he said about the measures, when they will be implemented
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis discussed economic support measures in light of rising prices and reviewed government actions in foreign policy, energy, social protection, security, and culture.
In his weekly post, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis emphasized that the fiscal stability achieved in recent years allows the government to implement targeted economic interventions aimed at alleviating citizens' financial pressures from price increases. He noted that the responsible policies of the previous period enable the government to provide support measures while considering the resilience of the Greek economy. Mitsotakis also reflected on the government's actions in areas such as foreign policy, energy, social protection, security, and culture.
Mitsotakis highlighted the importance of supporting Cyprus amid its challenges, stating that his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and Cypriot President Nicos Christodoulides was a clear message of solidarity and European unity. This visit underscores Greece's commitment to regional stability and its role within the EU framework, advocating for cooperative measures in the face of external pressures.
Additionally, the Prime Minister outlined the government's planned economic measures, including a cap on profit margins for fuel and 61 supermarket products, which will be implemented by the end of June. These measures intend to restrain inflationary pressures and demonstrate the government's responsiveness to the economic needs of its citizens, aiming to provide both immediate relief and sustainable economic policies.
