Gbenga Elegbeleye, chairman of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), has instructed that all Matchday 30 fixtures this weekend begin with a minute’s silence in tribute to the late Henry Nwosu, former captain of the Green Eagles. Nwosu, who was 62 at the time of his death, is remembered for his significant contributions to Nigerian football, particularly as a key player in Nigeria's squad that won the African Cup of Nations in 1980. Nwosu passed away following a brief illness at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, where he had been receiving intensive care.
