Despite their tiredness, the excitement of participating in the Pyrenees Trail Running Competition was palpable. Early the following morning, the team embarked on a run to Montjuïc Hill, a significant landmark in Barcelona known for its Olympic history. Running in formation, they felt like a national team in training, preparing for their upcoming participation in the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships scheduled to be held in Spain.
The morning run took them to Montjuïc Hill, where the scenic views of Barcelona and the ocean rewarded their efforts. After completing their training, the team boarded a high-speed train to Zaragoza, where a shuttle bus awaited them to transport them to the primary competition venue, the vast Pyrenees mountains. The upcoming World Mountain and Trail Running Championships, co-hosted by several international running organizations, promise to showcase some of the best trail runners globally, taking place biennially in different countries.
This year, the competition is particularly significant as it allows the Korean team to compete at an international level, fostering sportsmanship and international camaraderie.
