Tehran Governor: The bombing affected 56 historical areas and 10,000 housing units

The Governor of Tehran states that over 10,000 residential units have been damaged due to bombings, along with significant impacts on historical sites.

Tehran's Governor, Mohammad Sadegh Matin-Dousti, reported that more than 10,000 residential units have been affected by bombings in the city over a period of just 15 days since the onset of the war. The strikes have not only hit residential areas but also impacted commercial, educational, and healthcare institutions, highlighting the escalation of civilian casualties amid the ongoing conflict. These bombings appear to target civilian structures contrary to claims from Washington that the operations were focused exclusively on military and security installations.

In an interview, the governor emphasized that the US and Israeli forces have conducted airstrikes on predominantly civilian sites rather than the military targets they had publicly stated. He pointed out a specific incident involving an attack on a Red Crescent center in a Tehran neighborhood, which serves as further evidence that such operations extend beyond declared military objectives, affecting humanitarian facilities and housing areas.

The report further noted that the Iranian Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage indicated that 56 registered historical sites, recognized both locally and internationally, have suffered direct damage since the conflict began. This includes 19 sites located in Tehran province, representing a significant blow to the region's cultural heritage and historical legacy.
