Olubadan gives Ramadan, Lenten food gifts to Ibadan residents

The Olubadan of Ibadanland distributed food packages to over 5,000 residents in celebration of Ramadan and Lent.

On Saturday, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, generously distributed food packages to more than 5,000 residents, comprising both Muslims and Christians, as gifts for the holy occasions of Ramadan and Lent. The food packages included essential items such as rice, beans, semovita, garri, maize, and noodles, along with cash to support the beneficiaries.

During the distribution event, which was represented by his wife, Olori Rashidat Ladoja, Oba Ladoja expressed that the motive behind this initiative is fundamentally rooted in community giving and support. He mentioned that this charitable act has been a tradition for him over the past two decades. However, this year's distribution marks a significant milestone as it is the first occurrence since his ascension to the throne as the Olubadan, with the scale of beneficiaries noticeably larger than those in previous years.

The Olubadan highlighted the positive atmosphere of the event, noting that there were no incidents of conflict or disruption among the large crowd of beneficiaries. He attributed the success of the event to the careful organization and community spirit, emphasizing his commitment to prioritizing the welfare of the residents of Ibadan. This annual distribution not only strengthens community bonds but also underscores the importance of interfaith dialogues and cooperation in a diverse society like Ibadan.
