India will bring inexpensive robots, will compete with the world, Rahul Shah announced the launch date
India is set to introduce affordable humanoid robots designed to inspire students and compete internationally, as discussed by Rahul Shah at the India Today Conclave 2026.
During the India Today Conclave 2026, Rahul Shah, the Managing Director of Bidyut Innovations, shared detailed insights about the new humanoid robots that are being developed in India. Presenting alongside two robots named G-1, which were originally developed in China but programmed in India, Shah emphasized that the primary goal is not to sell these robots but to provide them to educational institutions across the country. This initiative aims to inspire students to engage in technology and robotics, encouraging the next generation to innovate and create their own robotic solutions.
Shah further elaborated that the Indian-made robots are expected to hit the market within the next 3-5 years, with aspirations that they will be competitive with robotic technologies available globally. By showcasing these innovations in schools, the initiative aims to spark interest and creativity among students, promoting STEM education and fostering a tech-forward mindset. The idea is to utilize these robots not just as tools but as educational resources that can ignite passion in students for such technologies.
He concluded by expressing confidence that the arrival of "Make in India" robots will not only change the landscape of technology in India but will also position the country as a serious competitor in the global robotics market. This transition aligns with India's strategic focus on advancing its technological capabilities and emphasizes the importance of innovation in education for long-term growth and development in the tech sector.
