Ukrainian authorities reported that Russian drone and missile strikes near Kyiv caused the deaths of four individuals and injuries to 15 more, with four of the injured in critical condition. Mykola Kalashnyk, the head of the Kyiv regional military administration, indicated that the attacks targeted ordinary settlements, impacting residential buildings, educational institutions, businesses, and critical infrastructure, with reports of approximately 30 damaged sites.

President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that rescue and recovery operations are taking place not only in Kyiv but also in other affected regions such as Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Mykolaiv. He stressed that the primary objective behind the strikes appeared to be the energy infrastructure of the Kyiv region; however, the indiscriminate nature of the assault has led to significant civilian casualties and property damage, affecting homes, schools, and local businesses as well.

The Ukrainian air force reported that Russia had unleashed a total of 430 drones and 68 missiles in these attacks, with air defense systems successfully intercepting many of these threats. The situation underscores the ongoing conflict's intensity and the impact on civilian life, raising alarms about the humanitarian toll of continued military engagement in the region.
