Sixth Government Charter Flight Arrives, Over 1,000 Japanese Nationals Return from the Middle East

The Japanese government has successfully repatriated over 1,000 nationals stranded in the Middle East due to the escalating situation in Iran, with the sixth charter flight arriving from Riyadh.

On the morning of the 14th, the Japanese government announced the arrival of its sixth charter flight from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which carried back Japanese nationals stranded in the Middle East due to rising tensions in Iran. This marks a significant milestone as the total number of returning citizens reaches 1,086. The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that all nationals wishing to return via charter flights have now been successfully evacuated.

Among the passengers on this particular flight were 220 Japanese individuals wishing to depart from Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Notably, in a gesture of mutual assistance concerning evacuation efforts, two Taiwanese nationals were also on board. The previous day, the fifth charter flight arrived from Muscat, Oman, carrying 42 Japanese citizens and four South Koreans, illustrating the ongoing collaboration in efforts to ensure the safe return of foreign nationals from the increasingly dangerous region.

These repatriation flights highlight Japan's proactive stance in protecting its citizens abroad, especially during heightened geopolitical tensions. As the situation in the Middle East remains volatile, the government is expected to continue coordinating further evacuations if necessary, ensuring the safety of its nationals while fostering international cooperation in humanitarian efforts.
