During a high-level meeting in Paraguay, Ecuador's Minister of Economy and Finance, Sariha Moya, formalized an agreement with Ilan Goldfajn, the president of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), which will facilitate up to $1.2 billion in strategic investment projects for the country. This investment guarantee is anticipated to support significant projects geared towards fortifying Ecuador's energy sector and diversifying its energy matrix.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) emphasized that this initiative is part of Ecuador's broader strategy to mobilize investments and stimulate economic growth, ultimately enhancing resilience and creating conducive conditions for sustainable development. Sariha Moya is in Paraguay for the Annual Meetings of the IDB, which are set to last until March 14, 2026.
