The Croatian Anti-Corruption Agency, USKOK, has launched an investigation into the Croatian Ski Association, prompted by concerns over illegal cash disbursements. The police acted on USKOK's orders, raiding the association's offices and seizing documentation as part of the inquiry. This development follows the resignation of Vedran Pavlek, the director of alpine teams and ski pool, amid growing scrutiny regarding the association's financial operations.

The investigation reportedly started when customs officers intercepted Nenad Eror, the chief logistics officer for the association, at the border, discovering a bag containing a substantial sum of cash estimated at 120,000 euros. This finding raised alarms about potential financial misconduct within the organization, leading to further investigations and assessments of the situation. The tense atmosphere has already prompted significant resignations within the association, indicating the severity of the allegations.

In light of these developments, the association's Board convened an emergency session to address the unfolding crisis. Following the police raid and pending inquiries, Damir Raos, the association's secretary-general, has requested to retire, suggesting that the internal response to the investigation is robust and may lead to further changes as the investigation unfolds.
