The Latvian pair, who are the reigning world champions and seeded third at the tournament, demonstrated their resilience throughout the competition. In their initial match, they faced a tough battle and lost with a score of 1-2 against the US team of Corey Savvy and Devon Newberry. However, they rebounded strongly in their second game, securing a clear 2-0 victory against Brazilian athletes, Maiaela Martins and Talita Simoneti.
