Another corruption scandal in Ukraine's defense sector - artificially inflated procurement prices
Ukrainian authorities have arrested a group involved in corruption related to inflated prices in defense procurement, involving a well-known state-owned defense company.
Ukrainian anti-corruption officials, in collaboration with the Security Service of Ukraine, have made arrests in Dnipropetrovsk region concerning a corruption case within a defense company's procurement process. While the name of the implicated firm has not been disclosed, it is identified as a well-known state-owned entity. The case revolves around allegations against key personnel, including the first deputy director and a department head of the state company, as well as a manager from a private firm, who are accused of artificially inflating the costs of purchased raw materials by approximately 30%. This illegal markup resulted in a profit of around 450,000 euros which the group allegedly divided among themselves.
