The sale of Askon and Sotka brands seems likely - also, the Lahti sofa factory has interested buyers

The sale of the Askon and Sotka brands is becoming increasingly probable, with several interested buyers for the Lahti sofa factory as well.

The Indoor Group's bankruptcy estate manager, Tuomas Penttilä, has indicated that discussions regarding the sale of the Askon and Sotka brands are progressing well, though certainty about the preservation of the brands is not yet guaranteed. Penttilä noted that it is unlikely these brands will be purchased merely to serve as dormant companies, suggesting a serious intent from the interested parties.

At the same time, the Lahti sofa factory has attracted multiple interested buyers, although no firm commitments have been disclosed yet. Currently, the factory is continuing to manufacture mattresses for another two weeks before production halts. Due to remaining stock ready for sale, some Askon and Sotka stores will continue liquidation sales until mid-April, when all stores are expected to close their doors.

Penttilä clarified that the bankruptcy estate no longer holds onto products that had been pre-paid by customers, which were designated for specific buyers. However, he mentioned that some of these items might still be in the possession of transportation companies, indicating ongoing logistical challenges in the wind-down process of the estate’s assets.
