A 27-year-old man was arrested on Thursday in Nova Hartz, located in the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre, Brazil, on accusations of sexually abusing two minor brothers aged 5 and 9. The abuse reportedly took place over a span of at least a year and was uncovered by the children's mother, who promptly contacted the PolΓcia Civil. The authorities acted swiftly and, within 24 hours of the report being filed, arrested the suspect.
According to Detective Ariadne Langanke, the man had befriended the victims' family and exploited moments when he was alone with the children to carry out his abuses. The case has raised significant concerns in the community given the allegations involved, which include not only the abuse of the young boys but also suspicions that the man had been hoarding and distributing child pornography through networks linked to pedophilia.
During the arrest at his residence, police recovered devices that indicated the suspect's involvement in these illicit activities, highlighting the serious nature of the allegations against him.
