F1 Results Today: How Franco Colapinto Performed in Practice and Sprint Qualification
Argentine driver Franco Colapinto faced challenges at the start of the Chinese Grand Prix, finishing in 16th position in the sprint qualification.
Franco Colapinto, the Argentine driver for Alpine, participated in his first sprint qualification of the 2026 Formula 1 season at the Shanghai International Circuit during the Chinese Grand Prix. The results of the sprint qualification were dominated by Mercedes, with British driver George Russell putting in a strong performance to secure pole position, followed closely by Andrea ‘Kimi’ Antonelli in second place. Both drivers had also topped the timesheets in the first practice session, showcasing Mercedes' current form.
