A man has been sentenced to eight years in prison following serious offenses where he was found guilty of raping a six-year-old girl on two occasions and repeatedly assaulting his wife. He has been in custody in a prison on Hólmsheiði since November 1 of the previous year. The sentence was delivered by the Reykjaness District Court on March 9 and was made public on March 13, 2026.
