VIDEO: motorcyclist injured after car runs a red light near the Maceió Bus Terminal

A 33-year-old motorcyclist was injured in Maceió after a car ran a red light and fled the scene without providing aid.

On Friday morning, a 33-year-old motorcyclist suffered injuries after his motorcycle was struck by a car that ran a red light near the Maceió Bus Terminal on Avenida Governador Lamenha Filho. Eyewitness accounts and security camera footage reveal that the motorcyclist was en route from Feitosa to Mangabeiras when the incident occurred, propelling the motorcycle away from the point of collision, while the rider was left sitting on the ground.

Emergency services, including the Military Fire Corps, arrived approximately 30 minutes after the accident to assist the injured rider. They cordoned off the area to provide medical attention, as traffic in the vicinity became congested due to the incident. Reports indicate that the motorcyclist sustained abrasions on his left leg and right arm, thus requiring transport to Hospital Geral do Estado (HGE) in Trapiche da Barra for further medical evaluation.

The fleeing driver, who did not stop to provide assistance, adds a layer of concern regarding road safety and accountability after accidents. While the current health status of the injured motorcyclist has yet to be disclosed, this situation highlights the need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws to prevent such dangerous incidents in densely populated urban areas like Maceió.
