However, the team faced challenges with early wickets falling in several matches, which necessitated a reassessment of their game plan.

In an interview with Cricbuzz, Kotak explained that the batting lineup featured eight players capable of scoring at any strike rate, making it crucial for the team to remain adaptable. With the loss of early wickets, the management decided to reintroduce Sanju Samson into the playing combination to restore balance in the order. This change was prompted by the need for a left-right batting combination, particularly against the off-spin of opposing bowlers, which led to Samson being positioned as an opener.
