The initiative aligns with NATO's increasing focus on space as a crucial operational domain, showcasing Norway and Germany's intent to lead in this area of defense and technology. The announcement comes alongside plans for Isar Aerospace to launch a carrier rocket from Andøya in the upcoming months, further signaling the countries’ commitment to enhancing their space capabilities. Støre and Scholz plan to discuss pressing issues, opportunities in space tech, and express a political message during their participation in the upcoming Cold Response military exercise in Bardufoss, where they will also engage with Canadian Prime Minister Carney.
