'Please bring me fritters...', the husband was dropped off the bus, then the new bride disappeared

A newlywed bride in Uttar Pradesh vanished after asking her husband to buy fritters while they were at a bus stand.

In a shocking incident in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, a newlywed bride named Rimjhim went missing after her husband, Pritam Singh, complied with her request to get snacks at a nearby stand. The couple had recently celebrated the festival of Holi and were returning from Rimjhim's parental home when they stopped at the Bilari bus stand. Pritam reported his wife's mysterious disappearance to the police, suggesting she may have eloped with someone else, raising concerns about the motives behind her sudden vanishing act.

The couple had married on December 1, 2025, in Ramapur, and had returned to the husband's home after Rimjhim spent a week with her family for the Holi festival. The incident occurred on March 9, 2026, after they travelled by bus from Saifni to Bilari, en route to Moradabad. According to eyewitness accounts, Rimjhim asked Pritam to fetch her some fritters and reportedly stepped off the bus, never to return. Her father has echoed the husbandโ€™s concerns, fearing she may have left with a lover.

This incident highlights not only a personal tragedy for the couple involved but also broader societal issues regarding the pressures young brides may face and the possible consequences of familial or romantic obligations. With the husband's alarming claims, the police are actively investigating her disappearance, underlining the urgent need for understanding and addressing the vulnerabilities of women in such sudden and precarious situations.
