Police arrest three wedding thieves for targeted burglaries
Police in Copenhagen have arrested three men suspected of committing burglaries in homes while residents attended wedding celebrations.
In a coordinated police operation, three men have been arrested in Copenhagen for allegedly committing multiple burglaries at homes where residents were preoccupied with attending wedding festivities. The police noted that the suspects appeared to have specifically targeted residences where they were aware the occupants were invited guests at a wedding, which raises questions about how the suspects obtained this information.
The arrests, which occurred on Wednesday morning, took place across three locations in Rødovre, Frederiksberg, and Copenhagen's Sydhavn. During the raids on these addresses, law enforcement discovered several items believed to have been stolen from the affected properties, indicating a clear connection to the crimes the suspects are being charged with. The police have disclosed that the three individuals, aged 26, 33, and 35, are suspected of executing four burglaries and attempting another during the month of December.
As the investigation continues, authorities aim to uncover the means by which the suspects gained access to sensitive information regarding the wedding attendees, highlighting potential security loopholes that could endanger other residents. The police spokesperson, Bilal Hassan, emphasized that further details about this aspect of the investigation are currently not available, underscoring the challenge of preventing such targeted crimes in the future.
