A tragic incident occurred near Myeongil Station in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, where a taxi unexpectedly accelerated onto the sidewalk, hitting pedestrians and a wall. The accident took place around 12:36 PM on the 12th, resulting in one dead and three injured individuals. The deceased was a male passenger in his 40s, who sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital but did not survive.

Additionally, the 70-year-old taxi driver and two pedestrians were seriously injured, while another pedestrian suffered minor injuries. Authorities including the Gangdong Police Department and the Gangdong Fire Department are investigating the incident. Preliminary findings revealed no indication of alcohol or drug use by the taxi driver at the time of the accident.
