The 'pink apericena'? It was an illegal party. March 8 ends with a fine of 5,000 euros
An unauthorized women's celebration in Opera, Italy, on March 8 led to police intervention and over 5,000 euros in fines due to lack of permits.
An event planned to celebrate International Women's Day on March 8 in Opera, Italy, turned into a police operation when local authorities discovered that the 'apericena' was held without any necessary permits. The gathering aimed to offer an evening of sharing, music, and fun for women but ended up being an unapproved public event. Around 80 women were present, engaging in merriment and conversation, unaware that the celebration was illegal.
The law enforcement officers, in collaboration with the Carabinieri, raided the private hall, where the celebration was taking place. The event had been marketed on social media, complete with enticing flyers, which denoted a larger audience than what is allowed for private gatherings. The crackdown revealed a total absence of required legal documents such as the title needed to operate events, Scia (a type of declaration for starting a business), or else a certificate of approval required for public spectacles.
Consequently, the party was halted, and fines exceeded 5,000 euros due to various administrative irregularities. Additionally, the event organizer has been reported to the authorities for not adhering to the laws governing public events, highlighting the importance of compliance with legal regulations even in celebratory contexts.
