Friday will be sunny, but it will become windier
A forecast for an upcoming Friday indicates sunshine with increasing wind speeds across Latvia.
The weather forecast for Friday predicts sunny conditions in Latvia, with temperatures ranging from 9 to 14 degrees Celsius. In Riga, the maximum temperature is expected to be around 12 degrees, accompanied by a gusty south wind reaching speeds of 10 to 13 meters per second. The southern region known as Latgale will experience slightly less wind than the rest of the country.
Notably, this month has seen an unusual number of warmth records, with eight out of the twelve days recorded so far registering new highs across Latvia. The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre has reported a total of 54 new temperature records across its network of 25 weather stations. This indicates a significant shift in weather patterns, which could have implications for both environmental conditions and local activities.
As the country approaches the end of winter, the combination of sunnier weather and warmer temperatures might impact various sectors, especially agriculture and tourism. High temperatures during this period can influence plant growth cycles and energy consumption, signaling a potential shift in seasonal expectations for the residents of Latvia.
