An elderly man was subjected to a violent robbery in Francisco Ayres, southern Piauí, where he was tied up and assaulted with a gun by an intruder. The incident took place around 11 PM on Wednesday, and the perpetrator, armed with a revolver, invaded the home of an elderly couple. After restraining the man with plastic ties, the assailant brutally attacked him by striking his head with the weapon while searching for valuables in the house.

During the ordeal, the wife of the elderly victim managed to escape through the backyard and sought help from residents nearby, who promptly alerted the military police. The suspect fled the scene upon noticing the approaching police vehicle, although he managed to steal a sum of money from the victims before escaping. The local police have actively conducted search operations in the area in hopes of apprehending the robber, but as of now, no arrests have been made.

Authorities have registered the case, which is currently under investigation.
