The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant for Amarbir Singh, a 24-year-old man charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of 28-year-old Navdeep Kaur. Her remains were discovered in the Fraser River in July 2024, five months after she went missing. Singh and Kaur were reportedly in a relationship at the time of her disappearance, and investigators believe he fled to India shortly after being interviewed by authorities.

Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT explained that Singh, who had no prior criminal record in Canada, was interviewed by the police but was not charged at that time. Following these interviews, he allegedly left Canada towards the end of 2024, complicating the situation for law enforcement. The investigation team is currently collaborating with international counterparts to locate Singh in India and initiate the process of extradition to face charges in Canada.
