The mother of two brothers who were tragically killed in Itumbiara expresses her gratitude for the support she has received during her grief.

Sarah Araújo, the mother of Miguel Araújo Machado, aged 12, and Benício Araújo Machado, aged 8, expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the support she has received following the tragic deaths of her children in Itumbiara, Goiás. As the one-month anniversary of the crime approached, she received a thoughtful gesture, including a bouquet of white roses and a letter from a group of over 300 women from various parts of Brazil, demonstrating solidarity in her time of mourning.

On February 11, the crime occurred at the family residence, where Miguel was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries that same night. His younger brother Benício was admitted in critical condition to the Intensive Care Unit of the State Hospital but lost his battle and passed away two days later on February 13. This horrific event shocked the local community and raised significant concerns regarding safety and justice in the area.

The delivery of flowers and the letter of support was organized by Jaciene Machado, the coordinator of the Casa da Mulher de Itumbiara, symbolizing a community’s effort to help Sarah Araújo cope with her immense loss.
